Fives tube pipe cooling beds-FIVES

The counter rotation style chain transfer cooling bed system is based on the well proven cooling principle which gives a very high degree of straightness after the pipes are cooled. Both the primary and secondary cooling beds consist of seven rail support stands evenly spaced to accomodate the minimum and maximum pipe lengths sufficiently.

  • Cooling bed consists of two types of handling chain
    - Transfer chain
    - Counter rotation chain
  • Cooling bed incorporates seven strands of each type of chain
    - Total of fourteen strands of each type of chain
    - Transfer chain and counter rotation chain travel in opposite directions

Transfer chain linkage features

  • Dual outboard cylindrically shaped flanged rollers
  • Stainless pusher roller capable of whithstanding constant heat flux from hot pipe
  • Product temperature approximately 900°C
  • High strength structural steel side link plates
  • Heat treated alloy steel interior sprocket rollers
  • Hardened alloy steel link pins

Counter rotation chain linkage features

  • Dual outboard cylindrically shaped flanged rollers
  • Parallelogram shaped wear plate that provides uninterrupted pipe rolling surface
  • Top plate has a replaceable design
  • High strength structural steel side link plates
  • Heat treated alloy steel interior sprocket rollers
  • Hardened alloy steel link pins
